Bad Harvest
You'll never see yourself like you might see anybody else
It's just a simple fact you should know
And when it all dries up, despite your pleas, oh no
You ferret out all the weeds, and what do you have to show?
So you amazed yourself, it's understood
But how great's a journey when the end's no good?
It's a bad harvest
You guaranteed yourself on stuff you could never really know
your vows get hollowed out, don't you know?
The quotes you read on magnets and mugs in a gift shop
I wanna meet that guy, find out what he reaps and sows
Some things you can't remember, some disavowed
Try to find the difference but you just don't know how
It's a bad harvest
Your ten thousand hours for nothing- no credit
You're just a master of marking time
Run quickly through the light to more tunnels
You can count on your legs, but not your footing
I know, you know…
In a time before there were many female-fronted bands there was Cruiserweight from Austin, Texas. Their singer, Stella Maxwell, was dynamite live. Unfortunately, this defunct band's best album "Sweet Weaponry" isn't available here and was never on vinyl in the CD-only era, circa 2005, but you can find a used CD on ebay perhaps for pennies.
