How Could You Not Like Me?
I cannot wrap my whole head around
How could you not like me?
A lady once, now big, strong animal
How could you not like me?
It’s stupid, I know I shouldn’t but I do like to languish
A bubble, a little bubble and you don’t wanna break it, no
Well giddy up now, I’m running
I run as fast as reality chases
Don’t wanna face it
‘Cause I cannot wrap my whole head around
How could you not like me?
A lady once, then big time animal
How could you not like me?
My mouth, a tool sharpened for whatever needs fixin’
Everything, it’s all broken and I’ll wear it out until you see, yeah
But giddy up now, don’t worry
Don’t worry how these blinders impede me
My laser-stare can cut across a thicket good
From time to time I can dream, it’s you and me, we’re flying ‘round the neighborhood
When I let my flowers grow, you’d never water but I’d never say you should
So the worst thing you could say every time I thought we were in line was I was all over the place
But I cannot wrap my head around
How could you not like me?
A lady, yes, but I’m still animal
How could you not like me?

In a time before there were many female-fronted bands there was Cruiserweight from Austin, Texas. Their singer, Stella Maxwell, was dynamite live. Unfortunately, this defunct band's best album "Sweet Weaponry" isn't available here and was never on vinyl in the CD-only era, circa 2005, but you can find a used CD on ebay perhaps for pennies.
