Small Funk
When we say “How ya doing?”
I guess I get it, but I think we need a new phrase
Because I can’t get no satisfaction
I never meant to be a stick in the mud this way
Happy helpers obey, okay
I’ll admit to, I’ll admit to it
Oh no, oh no…
I try to pick me up
But I hit the bottom and it gave out, what can I say?
Sometimes I lose, maybe I’ll gain
But I never ever never ever never, I never maintain
It’s a frustrating way, okay
Zeroed in for a second
It goes away, but it’s better than nothing
To remind me what’s missing
Oh just forget it and it’s back to the streets
Oh no

In a time before there were many female-fronted bands there was Cruiserweight from Austin, Texas. Their singer, Stella Maxwell, was dynamite live. Unfortunately, this defunct band's best album "Sweet Weaponry" isn't available here and was never on vinyl in the CD-only era, circa 2005, but you can find a used CD on ebay perhaps for pennies.
