You’ve Got Work to Do
Never thought I’d shake my fist at the setting sun
Even though I’m thankful to know I’m not the only one
But we can’t clink glass on whatever you’ll never admit
You’ve got work to do
And you should be passing through
But little broken boy-babies hold out too long
You’ve got work to do
Wasting my time, thinking twice on such a singular man
You’ve got work to do
And you should be passing through
But little broken boy-babies hold out so long
You’ve got work to do
When you’ve got work to do
Window dresser
Wanna impress, but you’re curating bullshit
How do you measure
The time it takes you to get there when you’re standing still
You feel the pressure
Put on that leather to make you a rebel now
Hey, window dresser
You more depressed by the now or the never?
Smash the microscope you’ve been offered and forget this one
As for me, I’ll change my direction when the wheels are spun
Cheers to you, keep having your fun
You’ll get it while you can

In a time before there were many female-fronted bands there was Cruiserweight from Austin, Texas. Their singer, Stella Maxwell, was dynamite live. Unfortunately, this defunct band's best album "Sweet Weaponry" isn't available here and was never on vinyl in the CD-only era, circa 2005, but you can find a used CD on ebay perhaps for pennies.
